Hey, I’m Britt!

I help you take back your power and mental energy from food & reconnect with your body’s cues (as well as learn to trust them) so you can live your most balanced, liberated life through intuitive eating.

But this wasn’t always my story…

I didn't always have a good relationship with food or my body. Out of high school, I moved away to University where I quickly developed an eating disorder that lasted 6 years. My body became the enemy and food a tool for control. I spiralled into a destructive restrict/binge/purge cycle that had me feeling trapped, frustrated, and completely stuck all while blaming myself for a lack of willpower.

Throughout my life, I’ve had my fair share of arbitrary food rules and dieting attempts. I’ve obsessed over macros, counted calories and made my good food vs. bad food lists. I’ve “eaten clean”, taken diet pills and done intermittent fasting. I was even a bootcamp fitness instructor for 3.5 years and coached on weight loss.

Throughout all of this, I struggled with an eating disorder.

So for a long time, micromanaging my food and body gave me a sense of control. It wasn’t until I discovered intuitive eating that I realized my attempts to control were actually controlling me. I got to the point where the fear of staying the same was greater than the fear of moving forward. I let go of the rules, got really curious, and gave myself a lot of space to rediscover what living a life well-nourished meant to me.

Where you are now, I've been there too.

Through my own recovery, my education, personal research and the additional courses I've taken on body image, counselling strategies, and eating disorders, I'm here to teach you everything I know and help you find peace from your struggles with food and body image once and for all.

I started The Food Freedom Life because I wanted to help others rediscover a joyful love of food. I made it my mission to become a Dietitian who could help women take back their power from food and become their most authentic selves through food freedom and intuitive eating in a safe, inclusive space where all bodies are welcome.

If you want to really get to know me, my history with disordered eating and eating disorders, and why I got into this work, check out the first episode of The Food Freedom Life Podcast.

I work with individuals who are exhausted from food rules and the 24/7 noise in their minds around eating and their bodies. You’re ready to think about food differently, let go of your emotional attachment to food, and appreciate your body as your teammate in this life.

My practice is aligned with the Intuitive Eating Principles and the Health at Every Size® approach. I empower individuals to find freedom from the shame and stress of chronic dieting so they can live their most balanced, liberated lives.

“Confidence does not come from perfection, the absence of negative thoughts, or never having a rough patch again. It comes from owning your internal responses, facing fears despite messiness, and the ability to own your shit.”

Some of my favourite things…

My puppy, Archer (he's a Bernese Mountain dog!)

He is the goofiest and most loving boy and my heart explodes because of him every single day.

My husband, Adrian

He’s my best friend, my biggest supporter, and my rock. We’ve been together for 10 years, and we just got married on September 1, 2023!!

Exploring new places and nature areas

I love seeing more of the world we live in, learning about new cultures and finding new hidden gems!

I love to cook and try different cuisines

Growing up, the meals we ate were yummy but fairly plain. Now I love to experiment with food and challenge myself with new recipes! Recently I made steamed Chinese pork buns and damn, were they ever amazing.
